For Dr. Peplinski, this mission is personal. His own mental health journey showed him the power of having a community to turn to. Today, he helps lead mental health practices that offer that support to others. This scholarship is one way for him to give back—and to encourage someone who hopes to do the same.

A Scholarship Built on the Belief That People Matter.
“I’ve always believed that caring for people means caring for the whole person. As a physician, I know how essential mental health is to our well-being, yet it’s something we don’t talk about nearly enough in healthcare.
When I faced my own mental health struggle, I learned what it means to have people show up for you. The support I found in the mental health community made a lasting difference in my life. It showed me how much the right person, at the right time, can matter.
That’s why I created this scholarship. I want to encourage a student who hopes to offer that same compassion and support to others.
A career in healthcare is more than a job. It’s a chance to make someone’s hardest day a little easier, to offer hope, and sometimes to change the direction of a life. If this scholarship helps one student take another step toward doing that, then it is worth it.”
